Orthomyxovirus Research Conferences
2001 saw the first edition of the Orthomyxovirus Research Conference. A meeting which was wall-to-wall science from early to late, especially designed for young scientists. ESWI sponsored the meeting without a moment’s hesitation, and have done so for each subsequent meeting in 2003, 2005 and 2007. In 2009, ESWI will be supporting the meeting both financially and with travel grants for 20 young scientists. The ESWI prizes for best presentations and posters at the 2005 and 2007 editions of the Orthomyxovirus Research Conference included a full scholarship and a talk in the Young Scientist Plenary Session at the European Influenza Conferences (Malta 2005 and Vilamoura 2008). In 2008, the ESWI award winners also organised the Young Scientist Plenary Session at the Vilamoura meeting.
ESWI proudly presents its Q&A Book on Influenza. 101 Questions and Answers on Influenza is a major work of reference for anyone with an interest in flu.
