Research fields
Dr. Rohde’s fields of scientific interest include respiratory infections in asthma and COPD with a focus on viral pathogens, new detection methods for respiratory viruses (real time PCR), role of emerging respiratory viruses, inflammation caused by and innate immune responses towards respiratory viruses, epidemiology, diagnosis and management of community acquired pneumonia and detection of latent tuberculosis. In vitro models to study pathophysiology of and innate immune responses towards experimental viral infections are established in his lab.
